The British College of Benalmádena was established in September 2000 and continues to be privately owned by its founders. Our aim is to open the door for our pupils to a world of opportunities by providing them with a high quality British education in a homelike learning environment. From 1 to 18 years old, we guide every child along their own, personalised pathway, instilling in them a passion for learning.

Officially recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Education based on recommendation from the British Council, the school offers British education from Pre-Nursery to Year 13, following the full British National Curriculum along with the main areas of knowledge of the Spanish Curriculum. The British College is also recognised as a Cambridge International School. We prepare our students for their IGCSE and GCE-A Level examinations, entitling them to obtain the Cambridge International Certificate of Education. British qualifications obtained at The British College are accredited to their equivalent in the Spanish curriculum, meaning that, alongside the British qualifications, students obtain the Spanish Certificate of `Educación Secundaria Obligatoria´ and the `Título de Bachillerato´. Our students obtain outstanding examination results which allow them to access top universities in Spain, in the UK and around the world. If Spain is their option, they have direct access to the Spanish Universities without having to sit the EVAU. We foster and have managed to maintain the family and caring atmosphere which is at the heart of our philosophy. This is a very special feature of our school.

Academic results

We take pride in the fact that our students achieve excellent IGCSE, AS and A Level examination results. Every year our students are proud recipients of Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards for Top in Spain and Top in the World results. Over the past years, we have been the only school in Spain to consistently receive nine IGCSE and A Level Cambridge Outstanding Learner awards. Although we do have a reputation for excellent IGCSE and A Level results and the school is extremely proud of its academic achievement, our aim is to provide all our pupils with an excellent all-round education.
