“The great challenge of education is not merely to fill minds with knowledge, but to inspire minds to think for themselves.”

EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE

The early years (ages 3–4) focus on emotional, social and language development. Through play, exploration and creativity, children build essential early learning skills. It’s a joyful and stimulating introduction to school life.

In this first part of british primary education (ages 5–6), pupils begin to consolidate reading, writing and basic numeracy. Learning is practical and engaging, encouraging independence and motivation from a young age.

Between ages 7 and 10, pupils expand their knowledge across subjects like science, humanities, art and technology. Logical thinking, problem-solving and teamwork are key areas of focus, laying strong academic foundations.

This marks the beginning of british secondary education (ages 11–13). Students deepen their understanding in subjects such as literature, mathematics, physics, history and geography. Independent research and critical thinking are encouraged throughout.

At this stage (ages 14–15), students prepare for their IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) exams – qualifications recognised worldwide. They choose specific subjects, allowing for a personalised academic path.

The final stage (ages 16–18) corresponds to pre-university education. Students follow AS and A-Level programmes, choosing subjects aligned with their interests and future goals.

This is an academically challenging and highly focused phase, leading to university access in the UK, Spain and abroad. It also develops essential life skills such as independence, analytical thinking and time management.

Some NABSS schools offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme for pupils in the final two years of school.
